AmeriFile has been part of the Quad Cities for generations, combining early innovation with personal, local service.
AmeriFile Tax Centers has proudly served the Quad Cities for over 40 years as a locally owned and operated tax preparation company.
Our story began in the early 1980s, when the owners of AmeriFile helped develop one of the nation’s first computerized tax software programs right here in Moline, Illinois. That technology was used by thousands of tax professionals across the country and helped prepare millions of tax returns.
In 1986, AmeriFile was founded with a simple mission: make tax preparation accurate, affordable, and personal. AmeriFile was also among the pioneers of electronic filing, sending some of the first tax returns ever transmitted electronically to the IRS.
Today, AmeriFile Tax Centers continues to grow strong, having filed hundreds of thousands of tax returns and donated over $350,000 back into local Quad Cities charities. While tax laws and technology have changed over the years, our commitment to personal service and community involvement has never changed.

Founder
Born into Tax :) ! In 1982, my father created one of the country’s first tax software programs. In 1986, I founded Q.C. Electronic Tax Filing which later became AmeriFile right here in Moline, IL. AmeriFile helped pioneer e-filing of taxes by sending some of the very first tax returns ever sent electronically to the IRS.. I love helping people in the Quad Cities feel relaxed at tax time knowing that their taxes have been filed accurately and we stand behind them.

About Amerifile
In 1981, the owners of AmeriFile developed one of the nation's first computer tax software programs called TaxByte Software right here in Moline!. This software was used by thousands of tax professionals across the country to prepare millions of computerized tax returns. Then, in 1986, TaxByte developed software to transmit tax returns electronically to the I.R.S. - speeding up tax refunds. At that time James Fromi, Jr. founded the first AmeriFile Tax Center, in Moline, IL. AmeriFile sent some of the first ever electronically filed tax returns to the IRS! He builtAmerifile on the promise of giving a portion of all tax e-file fees back to the local United Way. Today, AmeriFile Tax Centers is still growing strong, having filed hundreds of thousands of tax returns with the I.R.S. and having donated over $350,000 to help fund health and human services in our community.
